A user on GTAForumswho claims he was also behind the recent hack of Uberhas just dumped nearly 100 videos online claiming to be development footage from Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI, which is currently circulating across virtually every social media platform.

Fits a lot what Bloomberg reported earlier in the yearincluding that the game will play and be set with a woman Vice City– the videos are very in-development footage, with unfinished textures and models everywhere, and code that plays over many of them in real-time. The leaker is currently taking requests and asking people what else they want to see in more videos.

In one, a white male playable character meets a racist NPC at a pool, and as the conversation takes place, you can see the code needed for the interaction along with the in-game action. In another, the female character—I only specify it because it would be a series first—explore one of the series’ infamous strip clubs.

The woman who appears to be the new protagonist of GTA 6, appearing in the unprecedented leaks from Rockstar Games.

This appears to be the new female protagonist for GTA 6, which is technically a series first, all the more reason why a leak of this caliber for one of the most anticipated games ever is so unprecedented for Rockstar Games.

There is also a video showing “passenger firing mechanics”, illustrated with the player taking an AK-47 to some chasing police cars, and another showing the interior modeling of a car.

One of the more complete videos Uploaded shows both characters working together to rob a diner, holding the customers at gunpoint before the police arrive. Others are in a cruder form, featuring little more than a featureless placeholder character that moves around an empty landscape and performs combat animations such as taking cover.

The legitimacy of these videos is of course questioned. There is certainly a lot of visuals, and running both the action and the code at the same time would be a lot of work for an internet geek. But it’s still a leak, and unless Rockstar comments (we’ve reached out and will update if we hear back), we won’t know it is real until we can match what is shown here with whatever eventually emerges GTA VI.

If that is real, then holy shit. Given the status of the game and the amount of footage it would be one of the greatest of all time, right up there with Half-life 2. So far, however, it seems legitimate: not only are reporters like ex-Kotaku behemoth Jason Schreier says that Rockstar is contacting confirmed the information to them, Rockstar employees appears to like tweets related to the apparent hack. But the wildest part?

The hacker is now trying to strike a deal with Rockstar, although we don’t know what kind. To stop distributing more material? To ensure the leaker doesn’t get sued? Whatever the case, this is definitely one of the most unprecedented leaks in all of video game history.

Earlier in the year, Bloomberg also reported that the following CTA would try to be more “culturally sensitive”. a subtler tonal shift already in the reissue of GTA V. Saw the recent game Rockstar removes some transphobic content which was previously criticized by some fans.

As things move quickly on the hacking front, and rumors fly about possible scams involving the sale of the source code, fans are busy trying to figure out what’s visible in the footage that’s already out there. There are already theories about who will play the new lead role.

Update 13:55: Added details on the leaker’s shout-out to Rockstar, along with new developments in the story.
